The Welcome Party Invitation
The day has come, the welcome party i had been waiting for. We were wearing our traditional dress, Kiki wear kebaya, Iin, Mega and Akbar wears "Baju Bodo" a traditional dress from Makassar and me? well, i only wear my regular batik. 9 AM, the buddies came to the dormitory to greet and pick us to the SMU's AVR 1 room. Inside the AVR room, everyone has already waited for us, wearing blue uniform, greeted us. One of the buddies then lead us to the front seat, and i saw Ma'am Libey and Ma'am Matet already there and smiling at us.

Ma'am Matet giving a welcome speech
The party was started by prayer, leaded by one of our buddy, Tina, then some key people like Sir Moises, Ma'am Matet and Ma'am Libey are giving us a welcome speech, and then followed by students from all the majors of STEH, there are Music, Art, Physical Education and Humanity (MAPEH), English Department, Filipino Department and, School of Health and Natural Sciences (SHaNS)..

The next session was showing the traditional dance of the Ilocano, i forgot the name, it was a simple dance, done by a group of 6 people, 3 man and 3 woman. Suddenly, in the middle of the dance, the girl dancer then take us to join the dance together. Well, it wasn't easy as it looks, but still fun

the dance was presented by students of MAPEH major

I forgot the name of the dance
The next session? us! they wanted us to show something from our culture. Luckily, Iin was good at Makassar's traditional dance and Akbar was good at martial art called "Silat", he has his own dojo, because his grandfather is one of the Silat Guru on Makassar. Then, we sing together an Indonesian song "Bendera", we have no idea what to do for the next show.

For the "dessert" everyone in the room must do the zumba dance. instructed by video, presented through the projector, everyone in the room was so happy doing the dance, also me, it just fun. And for the closure, Tina leads the pray.

After leaving the room, we then took some photos with STEH Staff on the outside and then went to the STEH Office, Ma'am Matet want to show us her office.

The STEH Squad!

Everyone in the office was so excited with Mega and Iin's traditional accessories
That's not all, Ma'am Matet also cook a spaghetti for everyone in the office, a chicken spaghetti, so we can eat the food. Everything was so good, especially when you're hungry i haven't eat any breakfast. We have a long conversation with Ma'am Fredricia, Ma'am Alexa and there was another one, but i forgot her name.

Okay, dig in !
From the STEH office, we moved to Ma'am Libey's office, the Professional Education office. The office wasn't that far, it's on the first floor. She told us that we can print our lesson plan in her office at the morning. Both of the office offers us to just visit if we wants to consult anything, especially if we had any problem during practice teaching or our stay, they surely will help us.

A quick snap in Ma'am Libey's office.

It was only a quick visit, because our schedule was tight. Ma'am Libey then took us out to the main gate and called the Tricey, we're going to the school, where we're going to teach. We're visited 2 schools, SMU Junior High School for me, Mega, Kiki and Iin and SMU Grade School for Akbar.

Watch your head Kiki !

See Ya Tina, Thea and  Kate !
From that time, i'm getting started to emotionally bonded with the buddies, Ma'am Matet and Libey, i was feeling so happy to meet them. (C/H)
